BIKE SAFETY
The event focuses on teaching your children how to ride their bike safely, including learning the laws for riding bikes, and the importance of wearing a helmet and making sure their bike is in good operating condition. This annual event is generally held in May, in the Nichols School parking lot. It includes a short quiz on bike safety and a course for your kids to ride through, demonstrating skills like hand signals, braking and maneuvering turns.

Local Bicycle shops provide bike inspections, making minor adjustments and offering suggestions on repairs that may be needed for the bike to operate safely. An officer from the Monona Police Department is also on hand to provide you the opportunity to register and license your bike. The event ends with each child receiving a Certificate of Completion and a yummy summer treat!

KIDSWAY (July 4th)

Kidsway is an annual event, held during the Monona 4th of July Festival. In the shelter behind the Dream Park you will find a group of games your kids can play, including a fish pond, bucket toss, and putting green, just to name a few. Every child receives a prize just for playing a game. The patriotic items, like red, white, and blue necklaces, folding fans, and head boppers are always among the favorites! This is a fun event to add to your "to do" list while attending the Monona Festival!

WINTERFEST
Winterfest is a great event for the whole family to escape from "cabin fever" during the long winter months. It is our largest annual event, usually held in February or March. Past events have included performances by magicians, story tellers, and musicians, in addition to area youth groups, such as Monona Academy of Dance and Karate America. There are games for kids to play, like ring toss, golf putting, bowling, a fish pond, and others, all with lots of great prizes to win. Another important part of this event is the Tri-Star basketball competition, open to boys and girls ages 8 to 13. Trophies are awarded to the top finishers and the winners are eligible to participate in the state competition. Once your kids have worn themselves out, you can sit down, relax, and have a family lunch at our food stand.

We bet you'll leave with prizes in tow, satisfied appetites, and smiles on your faces!
